Amici Bruerni

Leo Ryan

Role: Trustee

Leo has been connected to the Bruern community since his first son Charlie started in the Barn Owls in 2019. Charlie is now at the Senior School and Frank, his youngest, is in the Senior year at the Prep school. Working in marketing and digital strategy, Leo brings this knowledge and an enthusiasm for new technology to his role as a trustee since his appointment in 2024.

He has a particular interest in the role that Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies such as VR and AR can play in enabling neurodiverse children to make the most of their abilities.

Professionally, Leo has worked in digital marketing for the past 25 years across Sydney, New York, and London. He currently consults with companies to help them integrate Generative AI into their marketing organizations. Along with his sister, he is the founder of Beagle AI, a startup that uses AI to enable independent food and hospitality brands to compete more effectively with larger corporate brands by better connecting them with their customers.

Leo holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Design Studies, and Bachelor of Architecture. He has been on the board of the National Gallery’s commercial arm for over ten years and was recently the Chairman of the trading company for Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery, Sir John Soane’s country house in Ealing.

“Watching my sons struggle to be accommodated by the rigidity of the education system, I became determined that every possible tool available be put in their hands to enable them to fulfill their potential. Working outside of the school system, Amici Bruerni can investigate and introduce these kinds of ideas and tools that might otherwise be overlooked.”
